{"id":1135,"date":"2006-12-13T10:46:55","date_gmt":"2006-12-13T09:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dianeduane.com\/outofambit\/2006\/12\/13\/im-gonna-be-on-internet-talk-radio\/"},"modified":"2022-12-13T12:21:25","modified_gmt":"2022-12-13T12:21:25","slug":"im-gonna-be-on-internet-talk-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dianeduane.com\/outofambit\/2006\/12\/13\/im-gonna-be-on-internet-talk-radio\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m gonna be on Internet Talk Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is going to be fun!<\/p>\n<p>The excellent Chris Meadows (aka Robotech Master) has written <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teleread.org\/blog\/?p=5922\">an article on serializing novels on the Internet <\/a>for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teleread.org\/blog\/\">weblog <\/a>at his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teleread.org\/\">TeleRead <\/a>site, which deals with various aspects of electronic reading (e-books, reading on PDAs, online reading,digital libraries, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Chris is also hosting an online roundtable discussion this weekend on the art of online novel serialization (along the lines of the &#8220;Street Performer Protocol&#8221;), and he kindly asked me if I&#8217;d like to come along and chat with the attendees about the ins and outs of publishing the serial novel <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-big-meow.com\/\">The Big Meow <\/a><\/em>as I&#8217;ve experienced them so far. So on Saturday, December 16th, at 8 PM UT (that&#8217;s 3 PM [US] EST, noon [US] PST), I&#8217;ll be there in chatspace (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkshoe.com\/\">Talkshoe.com<\/a>) with the rest of the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Interested parties are more than welcome to come along and participate! If you just want to listen, you just click on the &#8220;listen-only&#8221; button on the page and you&#8217;re fine. (For the more technically-abled who want to talk as well as listen, you&#8217;ll want to be using a SIP-enabled VOIP application such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sjlabs.com\/sjp.html\">SJPhone<\/a> for Windows or <a href=\"http:\/\/xmeeting.sourceforge.net\/pages\/index.php\">XMeeting<\/a> for OS X, and there&#8217;s some coaching <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkshoe.com\/forum\/comments.php?DiscussionID=24&amp;page=1\">here in the Talkshoe forums<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>BTW, to the VoIP newbies among you: I was completely clueless at this, and it only took me about half an hour to get set up.
