SCHOOL -- AFTERNOON\n\nThe door into the playground cracks softly open.\nKit peers out, looks around. Then he slips out,\nfollowed by Nita.\n\nFrom around the corner of the building, Joanne and\nher crowd emerge. Nita and Kit pause, look at each other.\nThen, together, they head toward Joanne and her gang.\n\nA \"High Noon\" moment: the two factions move toward each\nother, Nita and Kit grim and determined, Joanne and her\nbunch furious and bent on revenge. As they close --\n\nA REALLY BIG BANG of displaced air -- and, out on the\nplayground, a LEAR JET (with its engines idling) APPEARS\nout of nothing and DROPS a couple of feet to the ground.\nEveryone stops right where they are, staring.\n\nKIT\n(astonished, impressed)\nWhat. <em>The.<\/em>\n\nJoanne's gang, also astounded, do what everyone else in\nthe area does: they run over to look at the jet. Joanne, angry,\ngoes after her posse.\n\nJOANNE\n(to Nita)\nLater. Believe me.\n\nNita and Kit glance at each other, then at the still-flickering\nFred as he REAPPEARS between them.\n\nKIT\nFred! Nice going.\n\nFRED\n(sounds sick)\nI saw them, so I exerted myself a little.\nCan we go now?\n\nNITA\nYeah.\n\nThey head off around the corner of the building. Kit glances\nback at the playground, full of the vast assortment of Fred's\nemissions.\n\nKIT\nWhat're they gonna do with all that stuff?\n\nNITA\n(shrug)\nEbay?\n\nThey hurry O.S.<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<p>(snrk)<\/p>\n<p>[tags]So You Want to Be a Wizard, Young Wizards, Nita, Kit, Fred, Diane Duane[\/tags] <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A moment from a screenplay: EXT.
