Life at the moment has been reduced to ironing and packing. And more ironing, and more packing. It’s a little easier than usual at the moment because of something Peter bought last week: the Iron of Doom — one of those super-irons with a separate tank that feeds superheated steam up to the iron through a tube. The thing makes violent hissing noises that terrify the cats (I guess it sounds like a giant, very pissed-off feline…). But it does make the ironing go a lot faster.<\/p>\n
Peter finished his ironing yesterday, which is unusual — normally he’s still at it at 3 AM of the day when the cab is scheduled to pick us up at 6 or 7 AM. I can only assume that something down in his male hindbrain has decided that this iron is a Power Tool.<\/p>\n
