It’s real!

by Diane Duane
Hardcover edition of Games Wizards Play

From my point of view, this is one of the few perks an author gets that’s worth anything. A month before pub date… I get mine first.

It’s real now. The sale doesn’t matter (well, okay, it matters, but only as the setup for this): the rewrites don’t matter, the first pass pages don’t matter, the ARCs don’t matter. Only when one of these arrives is the book really real for me. Only when the whole finished thing can be picked up and held in the hands does it become honestly, genuinely, really-and-truly a book.

Now I open that bottle of champagne that’s been lurking in the fridge since New Year’s. It took a while, but here’s Games Wizards Play, finally. Real.

Wanna preorder it? Go here for Amazon, here for B&N.

Want the in-between book between A Wizard of Mars and this? Interim Errantry is here as an ebook at Amazon, or here DRM-free from Ebooks Direct, or here as a paperback.

And meanwhile I can get back to work on the next one…

Already bought mine as soon as it was available from Amazon.com! I can’t wait … I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for this since 2010, it seems surreal that it’s really almost in my Kindle browser…

T- minus 18 days … and counting!

(((Where can I get one of those coffee mugs?)))

My order is in already, and I’m wondering if there will be an audio version as well. I got my son addicted to the series by getting the audio books, and now we listen to them regularly. I am so excited!

Finished reading it in one sitting after work today. It was totally worth the six year wait.
Thank you so much for publishing this (at last)! And i’m almost afraid to say that i’m looking forward to the next volume.

I’m delighted that you liked it! Thanks for the kind words. …And yeah, I’m looking forward to book 11 too. đŸ™‚ –DD

Do you know if Recorded Books will be doing an audio of it? I’ve been checking Audible but haven’t seen it listed.

(censored for spoilers) Quick note: the word ‘planetesimal’ in P’s talk with N and L is misspelled ‘planitesimal’.

The last book I read was book 2 in the Young Wizards Series so now I realized I am very far behind đŸ˜‰ Time to get caught up.

High Wizardry (book 3) is STILL one of my favorites! I envy you the experience of reading them for the first time!

This may not be the place to put this, but I just got my copy of this for my birthday yesterday. And I just reached page 530 and just… thank you. Thank you for the character Lissa, thank you for… thank you.

I myself wear a black Ace Ring on my right middle finger, just to remind myself I exist. Seeing it in print is amazing, even on a side character.

Hi! I’m dying to read this. Any word on when the audiobook will be out?

what I’d like to know is how did Tran Hung Nguyet get her magic back. I though that at the end of Wizards at War it was completly burnt out.

JUST finished reading it…and…WOW! I don’t know if I have the words to describe how wonderful this book is! Just…wow. You would think that after 10 books, the stories would decrease in quality…NOPE! Thoroughly enjoyable, great plot and WONDERFUL new characters. I LOVE how Nita and Kit’s relationship is shown…the ups and the downs. I love how the newer characters are being fleshed out. And I love how new relationships are being formed (Nita’s Dad and Nelaid in particular!) The only thing “wrong” is that I finished it and now have to wait an indeterminate amount of time for the next one! I simply CAN NOT WAIT!
